Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder which is the synonym of ADHD is a most commonly occurring psychiatric disorder in childhood. It is a chronic disorder because in most of the patients the symptoms which occur in childhood continue to prolong to their adulthood. Symptoms of ADHD are difficulty to concentrate and to focus in a specific thing they would not be able to control their behavior and hyperactivity. Based on the symptoms ADHD are of three types. Most of the symptoms are related to paying attention. Children get distracted and frequently forget many things they can not do one thing for a long time, they do not speak much and seems that they do not listen when others talk to them. Always they seem to be in a state of dreaming. While the child with hyperactivity seems to talk nonstop, they cannot sit still at same place for a longer time and they would constantly in movement.
The causes for ADHD are not sure and many studies are going on it. Most of the studies show that genes have a role in the ADHD. In addition to this environmental factors, food habits and brain injuries are possible factors for the disorder.
